Founded in the XIII century, re-built in 1349 and restored towards the end of the 1970s (the restoration works have brought to light many of the original elements), the Chiesa dell’Annunziata is the most important church of the surroundings. The splendid façade with a marble portal realized by Annibale Caccavello, on which, in the lunette, appears a bas relief with the Annunciation of 1563; the sixteen polychrome glass windows, that lighten the interior, have been recently made by the painter Bruno Cassinari (1912 - 1992). In the unique internal nave with a wooden trussed roof and a quadrangular apse with two double lancet windows, a cycle of 15 century frescoes with scenes of the Universal Judgement, of the Annunciation and the stories of S. Leonardo and S.Gennaro can be admired. Precious are also the 14th century triptych with S.Giorgio and S. Giovanni Battista and the polyptich of 1483 of the Annunciation, ascribed to Angiolillo Arcuccio (1467-1492), with the double predella in which are portraying Christ and the Apostles, the Nativity, the Resurrection and the Marie al Sepolcro.
